Over the past several years, we have seen a number of big brand hotels built in Guanacaste including Westin, Four Seasons, Sol Melia, JW Marriot and others.
AM Resorts is apparently going to be the next and is scheduled to invest US$125 million in a new luxury hotel on El Jobo beach.
The hotel is expected to open by late 2013 or early 2014.
It will be called the “Dreams Las Mareas Resort & Spa” and will be another posh 5-star resort with 423 rooms, a spa and several other facilities over 1,500 hectares in the area of La Cruz in Guanacaste. The new Guanacaste Costa Rica hotel project will generate around 1,000 direct or indirect jobs and is expected to compete directly with the Hollywood favorite – Four Seasons.
The choice of location for AM Resorts was easy — Guanacaste has long been the choice location for investors given it’s high tourism numbers, ease of access (new international airport) and the areas many pristine beaches and activities on the ‘eco-friendly’ front.
This further reinforces the idea that the area is a wise choice for investment has over the past couple years, Guanacaste real estate has seen it’s numbers rise and overall international awareness also increase.
